Why do we always have this feeling that we are missing something in life?

I live pay-check to pay-check. I dreamt how good it would be to have a government job – job security, less stress and so many other perks.

Then I happen to read about BK Bansal, senior corporate affairs ministry official and a top bureaucrat. He along with his family (wife, daughter and son) committed suicide after he was arrested for accepting a bribe.

If I know all about your external world – your job, how much you earn, who you’re married to, the car you drive, etc – I can predict only 10% of your long term happiness. The problem is we try to find happiness in places where it doesn’t exist.

90% of your long term happiness depends on how your brain interpret your reality. Contentment, gratitude and optimism is what you need if you want to truly be happy and peaceful.
